At the plenary session, the State Duma adopted in the second and third readings a bill that will clarify the procedure for paying pensions to former security forces and their families. The relevant document was published on May 20 on the website of the legislative support system.

Thus, amendments are being made to article 56 of the law "On Pension provision for persons who have completed military service, service in internal affairs Bodies, the State Fire Service, bodies for the control of trafficking in Narcotic drugs and Psychotropic Substances, institutions and bodies of the penal enforcement system, troops of the National Guard of the Russian Federation, enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation, and their families."

Pension authorities will be able to independently choose the method of transferring pensions. It will be possible to do this through the Federal Treasury or Sberbank. The funds will go to the account, card or deposit specified by the pensioner.

The bill also provides for the possibility of delivering pensions via Russian Post, but this depends on the applicant's preferences.

On May 19, Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Social Policy, announced an increase in the pension points of the individual retirement coefficient (IPC) for working pensioners, which they earned over the past year, from August 1. The MP also recalled that starting from October 1, pensions for military retirees will be increased by 4.5%.
