Kristina Ivanenko, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor at the Presidential Academy (RANEPA), told how parents can help a student decide on a future profession.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Tuesday, May 20, the specialist noted that parents should not take the position of an expert, but rather become a mentor for the child and together with him look for ways to solve the problem.

"Our personal experience, whether successful or unsuccessful, does not mean that the same path will repeat itself. <...> When talking about career guidance, it's fair to say that I do not know what is best, let's study, let's watch," the psychologist advised.

According to her, there are many studies in open sources about which professions will be in demand in the next 15 years. The stories of people from different professions and the difficulties they face should be studied by parents together with their child.

In addition, according to Ivanenko, parents should accept the attitude that over time the child's choice may change. It is important to be his ally here, to give him the right to choose.

In April, educational psychologist Daria Groza stated that choosing a profession is the result of thoughtful work, not inspiration. She called for an analysis of personal characteristics. A school psychologist, career guidance specialist, or high-quality online diagnostics can help you figure yourself out. Career guidance is effective if you start it long before the critical points, for example, from the sixth or seventh grade, notes 360.ru .

Also in April, the Deputy General Director of the service "Work.<url>" Alexander Veterkov told NSN that a teenager can earn 50-60 thousand rubles if he works 6-7 hours four days a week. They actively hire young people to work as couriers, call centers, administrators, sales consultants.

In March, the State Duma approved the involvement of children from the age of 14 to work on weekends during the holidays. Teenagers can work at the direction of the employment service or as part of student groups, which must be included in the federal or regional register of youth and children's associations with state support.

In October last year, expert Elena Provozen, in an interview with RT, called for starting to collect a portfolio in high school in order to gradually accumulate experience and achievements. First of all, the student should take a career guidance test, which will help him determine the appropriate areas. It will be useful to attend open days at universities, colleges and enterprises.

At the same time, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Maria Cheredilina stated that young people are often prevented from choosing a profession by illusions about the world and about themselves. According to the teacher, the formation of illusions is facilitated by a narrow outlook — when a person knows little about the world of professions. The search and analysis of information about various fields of activity will help to correct the situation, the website notes. kp.ru .

Earlier, Vyacheslav Kletchenko, a psychologist working with teenagers, said that parents need to take into account the child's desire to work in a particular field, but at the same time, the "pros and cons" of the chosen profession should be explained in detail. Experts note that parents should not pass on to their heirs "their unrealized dreams" and force them to do things that the child is not interested in. Pravda.Ru .
