The MG RX5 crossover has been certified in Russia, and the model has received Vehicle Type Approval (OTT). Mir-Distributor announced this on May 20 in its Telegram channel.

The receipt of the OTS confirms the compliance of the model with Russian safety and environmental standards, the company noted. This is the fourth MG certified car in Russia after the MG ZS crossover, MG5 sedan and MG6 liftback. At the same time, Mir-Distributor sells 10 brand models in Russia, including the Cyberster electric roadster.

Mir-Distributor announced the start of sales of the MG RX5 in Russia at a price starting from 2.8 million rubles in early December last year. The car is equipped with a 170 hp (275 Nm) 1.5 turbo engine, which is powered by a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Fuel consumption is 6.8 liters per 100 km, maximum speed is 190 km/h.

The list of equipment includes a multimedia system with a vertical 14.1-inch screen (with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), 18-inch wheels, a panoramic roof, six airbags, an all-round viewing system and other options.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that the production of Voyah Passion sedans will begin in July at the Motorinvest plant in the Lipetsk region. The maximum range of the model in the EVR version reaches 1 thousand km on the WLTP cycle.

Also on May 20, it became known that Kia, which had stopped doing business in Russia, had registered a trademark with the brand's logo in Russia.
