The State Duma has suggested the content of a joint memorandum with Ukraine

The joint memorandum between Russia and Ukraine is likely to contain some preliminary positions that the parties will have to reach when drafting the final peace agreement. This opinion was expressed by State Duma deputy Alexei Chepa on Tuesday, May 20.
According to the parliamentarian, it is not easy to talk about the time frame in which the memorandum can be drawn up. But hopes for an early settlement are being added by pressure from the United States, which is interested in ending the conflict, Chepa said.
"We see that Ukraine is trying in every possible way to delay the resolution of any issues. But I hope that the drafting of the memorandum will take place quickly, because in parallel there is pressure from the United States, which is talking about the need for an expeditious solution. So there is a chance that all this will take quite a short time," the politician concluded in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
Earlier in the day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow and Kiev would have difficult contacts to work out a single text of a memorandum on a peace treaty and a cease-fire, RT reports.
According to him, the draft documents will be formulated by both sides, after which they will be exchanged and "difficult contacts will begin to develop a single text," according to the website. kp.ru .
Peskov stressed that there are no deadlines and there cannot be. 360.ru . He added that there are no concrete decisions on the place of continuation of bilateral contacts yet.
