In Britain, Zelensky expressed dissatisfaction with the results of the conversation between Putin and Trump.

President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky was not satisfied with the results of telephone conversations between the presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. This was announced on May 20 by British analyst Alexander Mercuris.

"I read in the Financial Times newspaper that Trump informed them (EU leaders. — Ed.) about the phone conversation. <...> As for Zelensky, he is furious because he did not receive the support he expected from the United States," he said on the Duran YouTube channel.

According to him, the Europeans are also dissatisfied with the negotiations between the presidents of Russia and the United States. Mercuris stressed that the developments that are observed as a result of the conversation contradict the plans of the leaders of the European Union to continue the conflict.

The analyst clarified that Trump and Putin are in general harmony. He called their negotiations one of the steps in a difficult process.

At the same time, Moscow and Washington are discussing a meeting between the two presidents on how the dialogue on conflict resolution will develop.

Following a telephone conversation with Trump on May 19, Putin announced Russia's readiness to work with Ukraine on a memorandum, including a cease-fire. According to the Russian leader, Moscow stands for a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis. In addition, the head of state pointed out the need to find compromises that would suit all parties.

The American leader, in turn, announced the imminent start of negotiations between Moscow and Kiev on the suspension of hostilities and the end of the conflict. According to Trump, he informed Zelensky about the results of the conversation with Putin, as well as a number of partners, including French President Emmanuel Macron, head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
