The detained mayor of Novocherkassk has been charged in a bribery case.


Investigators have charged the detained mayor of Novocherkassk, Yuri Lysenko, in a case of receiving a bribe. This was reported on May 20 by TASS with reference to the law enforcement agencies of the region.
"Lysenko was charged today," the publication says.
Criminal cases have been initiated against the official under Articles 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a bribe") and Article 291.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Mediation in bribery"). As noted by "Gazeta.Ru", the total value of the property and the services provided by Lysenko is more than 8 million rubles.
On May 15, Lysenko was arrested in a case of receiving a bribe. The court decided to satisfy the investigator's request and appoint a measure of restraint for Lysenko in the form of arrest for a period of one month and 29 days, up to and including July 13.
Lysenko was detained on May 13 as part of a corruption investigation. On May 14, the mayor's apartment and the city administration building were searched. On the same day, the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Rostov region reported that in 2024, an official received a bribe from a developer in the form of a land plot and the provision of services in the form of the construction of an apartment building on it.
