After hacking into Gosuslug, fraudsters can attach fake documents to their personal account. Denis Kostin, Deputy head of the Department for combating Property crimes committed in the field of computer information, UBK of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, told about this on May 20.

"Indeed, it is possible to attach documents on the Gosuslugi website and portal. <...> Fraudsters use this opportunity," he said during a round table on the topic "Protection against telephone and Internet fraud: security strategies".

Kostin clarified that the attackers create fake documents, claiming that people are allegedly sponsoring terrorists, and attach them by gaining access to the victims' accounts. After logging into the portal, the victim sees fake data and begins to panic, fulfilling the demands of the scammers.

On the same day, it was reported that a new digital service called "Vital Situation" was launched on the Gosuslugi portal, designed to protect citizens from fraudulent actions on the Internet. This section combines all available anti-fraud tools. Among them is the opportunity to check your credit history, issue a self—ban on loans, find out the number of SIM cards registered in the user's name, and file a complaint about suspicious online resources.
