The European Union (EU), as part of the 17th package of anti-Russian sanctions, imposed restrictions on 189 vessels, as well as 75 individuals and legal entities, including Surgutneftegaz. This is stated on May 20 in a resolution of the EU Council published on the website of the association's Official Journal.
It is noted that the Atlas Mining gold mining company (ex. Petropavlovsk PLC), the Volga Shipping Company and the State Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve "Chersonesos Tauric".
According to the updated sanctions lists, restrictions were also imposed against several organizations involved in the production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), for example, Unmanned Systems LLC, Center for Integrated Unmanned Solutions LLC, NPO Rustekhdron, Airburg, KB Stratim and NPC Ushkuynik.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that the EU foreign ministers had approved the 17th package of sanctions against Russia. According to the head of the European Diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, the new measures are aimed at countering hybrid threats and supposedly protecting human rights. She added that "new sanctions are already being developed."
