The State Duma spoke about the timing of a new meeting with Ukraine

The meeting between Russia and Ukraine depends on Kiev's response to the proposals that were voiced by Moscow during the meeting in Istanbul. This opinion was expressed by State Duma deputy Alexei Chepa on Tuesday, May 20.
"We cannot be responsible with you for Mr. Zelensky (Vladimir, President of Ukraine. — Ed.), who does not want to negotiate. Everything will depend not only on this, but also on the development of external events," the parliamentarian said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .
Chepa recalled that Zelensky's decisions depend on the opinion of Western partners, who give him appropriate instructions. The parliamentarian cited as an example the meeting in Istanbul, when the visit of the Ukrainian delegation was postponed for a day.
"Russia has made concessions, and we understand perfectly well that, unfortunately, they do not bring special results. Because the motto "War to the last Ukrainian" obviously suits Zelensky," Chepa added.
Earlier, on May 19, the ambassador-at-large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Rodion Miroshnik, said that before holding talks with the Russian delegation, the Ukrainian side tried to do everything possible to disrupt them, RT reports.
He pointed to the principle of negotiators, if necessary, to disrupt the meeting — to make the details of the issues discussed public, IA Regnum reports.
On May 16, the delegations of Russia and Ukraine at the talks in Istanbul agreed to present their vision of a cease-fire and to exchange prisoners of war in the "1000 by 1000" format. According to the head of the Russian delegation, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky, the Ukrainian side also offered to hold talks between the leaders of the states, and Russia took this request into account.
