Kia has registered its brand's logo in Russia


Kia, which has stopped doing business in Russia, has registered a trademark with the brand's logo in Russia, Izvestia found out after examining the Rospatent database.
So, on May 20, a registered application submitted by the Seoul-based Kia Corporation on September 6 last year was published in the FIPS database. It contains the current Kia logo, which the brand has been using since 2021. Then the ellipsoid frame disappeared on the brand's logo and the name of the concern, written in curly letters, remained. The exclusive rights to the logo in Russia belong to the South Korean company until September 2034.
According to the application, the trademark is registered according to the International Classification of Goods and Services (ICTS) class No. 40, which allows cars to be assembled and disposed of under this brand, tires and fuel to be recycled, wood to be chopped and butchered, glass to be processed, water to be purified, movies to be dubbed for television to order.
On April 25, it was reported that Hyundai had registered a number of trademarks with car names in Russia.
On April 14, it became known that Kia had updated its car sales plan for 2025 to include the Russian market. It was clarified that it contains a mention of 50 thousand Kia cars, which are expected to be sold by the end of this year.
