More than 25 Pskov residents were hospitalized with acute respiratory viral infections in a week

In the Pskov region, 27 people were hospitalized with a diagnosis of acute respiratory viral infections during the week from May 12 to May 18. This is four more cases than in the previous week.

This was reported to the Pskov news feed by the press service of the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor. In total, 2,239 cases of acute respiratory viral infections were registered in the region during this period.

Mostly children get sick. The proportion of minors under the age of 14 among the cases is almost 62%. In Pskov, 838 cases of acute respiratory viral infections were registered, or about 37% of the total number of cases in the region.

Also, 11 cases of flu were recorded during the week. Influenza A and influenza B have received laboratory confirmation.

Earlier, general practitioner, district physician of JSC "Medicine" (Academician Roitberg Clinic), Candidate of Medical Sciences Oksana Serebryakova said that sudden temperature changes, vitamin deficiency, allergens and increased viral activity pose serious health threats in the spring. Allergic reactions to blooms and pollen are a particularly common problem.
