The economist pointed to high profits when investing in coffee

It is always profitable to invest in coffee, as it is an almost complete guarantee of a return on invested funds and profits. Alexander Anfinogenov, an economist and expert on the consumer goods market (FMCG), told Izvestia on May 20.
On May 20, the Moscow Stock Exchange began trading coffee futures. The contracts reflect the dynamics of the exchange price of coffee beans from various countries in Africa, Central and South America, as well as other coffee—producing regions.
"This is predictable money. If the agricultural history fails, the weather or some kind of pest, the cost of the invested money increases seriously, because coffee is a product of constant consumption, the fashion for coffee is growing all over the world," the expert noted and added that in the near and medium term, an oversupply of coffee on the market is not expected.
According to Anfinogenov, agriculture in general is a rather risky industry for investments, as success depends on difficult—to-predict factors. However, coffee, cocoa, tea and tobacco are traded fairly steadily on the market.
"There is always a live market when there is a consumer. We know that last year there were problems with coffee and crop failures. Nevertheless, coffee consumption is not decreasing, they are even trying to introduce new, let's say, methods of making coffee with all kinds of additives. In any case, everything is growing in all countries," the expert emphasized.
He noted that coffee has shown significant growth for several years in a row.
Ramaz Chanturia, CEO of Russian Coffee, said on March 25 that the expected cooling of global coffee demand could play a role in price stabilization. If demand starts to decrease, this may lead to lower prices on the stock exchange, which, in turn, will affect the entire supply chain.
The expert explained that the main growth factor is the sharp increase in coffee consumption in Southeast Asia, which has developed over the past decade.
