A man who dismembered an acquaintance in Moscow was placed under arrest for two months

A man suspected of murdering and dismembering his friend for the sake of an apartment has been arrested in Moscow. This was reported on May 20 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the Babushkinsky district Court of the capital.

According to him, the man was placed under arrest for two months.

It is noted that the defendant has been tried twice — in 2010 in Ulyanovsk and in 2017 in Samara. He did not object to the preventive measure. The man is accused of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder").

On May 18, bags with the dismembered body of a man were found in the northeast of Moscow. One of them was found near an apartment building on Zapovednaya Street, the second in the Yauza park area on Menzhinsky Street. The suspect was detained and taken to a law enforcement unit.

The next day, the man confessed, noting that he had struck 15 blows with an axe to an acquaintance from whom he rented a room in order to seize his property.
