Filmmaking will become one of the leading areas of cooperation between Russia and China. This was discussed today at the project session "Export of Creative Industries" within the framework of the Russian-Chinese Forum, which is taking place in Khabarovsk on May 19-20. The promising direction is confirmed by impressive production volumes. Over the past few years, the share of domestic content in Russian cinemas has increased from 30% to 70%.

"We see great potential in the development of projects related to the production of TV series and films. This includes the launch of joint projects of Russian companies in the Chinese market with filming in locations in the Khabarovsk Territory, both in natural and urban areas. We are not taking full advantage of our geographical location and our friendly relations with China. This is a big growth area," said Maxim Stavitsky, General Director of the Agency for Creative Industries of the Khabarovsk Territory.

In turn, Zhigan Chen, Vice President of the Chinese Business Center, added that the cultures of Russia and China can complement each other to create joint creative projects.

"This can also be the basis for screenplays. For the last 20-30 years, the entire global creative community has been opening businesses in China. We need to firmly follow the Chinese pace and bring our creativity to the Chinese market," Zhigang Chen said.

An important event of the Russian-Chinese Forum was the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Agency for Strategic Initiatives and the ELUS Union of Chinese Entrepreneurs, which provides for cooperation between Russia and China in the development of the creative economy.

"When we talk about the creative economy, these are companies that formulate a product, understand how to sell it, develop it, and make money from it. After a while, they will be able to exist independently, creating jobs, promoting their region through their product. Our goal is to grow as many of these companies as possible," said Ekaterina Cherkessade, Director of the Center for the Development of the Creative Economy at the Agency for Strategic Initiatives.

Ekaterina Cherkes-zade and the Agency for Creative Industries of the Khabarovsk Territory held a separate meeting with such a creative asset. Its participants will be able to become the first members of the Khabarovsk regional branch of the ASI Producers Club, which is scheduled to open this summer.

The theme of the Russian-Chinese forum is "Bolshoy Ussuriysky: cooperation in the joint development of the island." Its program includes more than 30 themed venues, cultural and sporting events. More than three thousand applications for participation were received from representatives of business, government authorities and creative industries from Russia and China.
