In St. Petersburg, by 2030, the number of companies among representatives of SMEs engaged in exports will increase to 10 thousand. The share of SME companies among all exporters will approach 95%. Such data was provided by the vice-governor of the city Kirill Polyakov, speaking at a meeting of the Governor's Export Council.

According to Polyakov, quoted by 78 TV channel, local small and medium-sized entrepreneurs are actively exporting special equipment, radio electronics, component base and food production. Their share in non-primary non-energy exports has doubled since 2020. This was mainly due to the development of the support infrastructure.

This year, the regional Export Support Center intends to expand the coverage of the Combined Cargo program. It involves shipping containers abroad. At the end of 2024, the first combined cargo successfully arrived in China.

In addition, the Vice Governor noted, the participation of St. Petersburg manufacturers in foreign exhibitions is also an important area of support. This year, the calendar of international business events will be significantly expanded. Business missions from about 12 countries are expected to visit St. Petersburg during the year.

Polyakov considers international transport routes connecting St. Petersburg with the countries of Asia and the Middle East to be the most important transportation routes from the Baltic ports to Latin America and Africa.

Earlier it was reported that the former Toyota plant, which is located in St. Petersburg and now belongs to Shushary-Avto LLC, completed 2024 with a net loss of 434.1 million rubles. In 2023, the company's net loss amounted to 283.3 million rubles and increased 1.5 times over the year.
