The number of military-patriotic clubs in schools has doubled in Moscow

There are more than 400 military-patriotic clubs in Moscow schools and colleges, where more than 20 thousand people are engaged. The number of such associations has doubled in the current academic year, said the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.
Under the guidance of experienced mentors, schoolchildren and students go on expeditions, study the history of the country and prepare for military sports competitions. Over time, military-patriotic clubs will appear in all educational institutions in Moscow, the mayor emphasized.
"All this helps them better understand what lies behind the history of our Homeland, appreciate their people even more and be proud that we are part of a great country," Sobyanin wrote on his Telegram channel.
He noted that special attention is paid to search activities. Every year, club members restore the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War: they find and reburial the remains of soldiers, establish their identities and search for relatives.
The second direction is air search. Members of the associations travel to the crash sites of combat aircraft, looking for fragments of equipment and personal belongings of pilots. In addition, schoolchildren and students take care of monuments and memorials.
Some of the military-patriotic clubs bear the names of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and their families. For example, the club of school No. 1591 is named after the Hero of Russia Evgeny Fadin, a member of the SVO, who commanded a group of unmanned aircraft.
