- The head of the Belgian Ministry of Defense announced the possibility of sending military personnel to Ukraine.

Belgium is ready to send military personnel to Ukraine after the truce is concluded. This was announced on May 20 by Belgian Defense Minister Theo Franken after arriving at a meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense of the European Union (EU).
"We are ready, as part of the coalition of the willing, together with Great Britain and France, to begin operating on Ukrainian soil immediately after the conclusion of the truce," said the head of the department, quoted by TASS.
Earlier, on May 7, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced Germany's intentions to provide Ukraine with reliable security guarantees. As Merz noted, after reaching an agreement on a ceasefire, Germany is ready to participate in its monitoring. In addition, the head of the German government stressed that the specific parameters of security guarantees would not be announced without a ceasefire agreement.
