She paid for her daughter: Vologda official was fired because of the girl's words about her
The head of the Nyuksen municipal District of the Vologda Region, Yulia Shevtsova, was dismissed after a scandal broke out on social networks over a video featuring her 19-year-old daughter. In the footage, the girl aggressively threatened to send her detractors to her place. The video caused a wide public outcry, and the governor of the region, Georgy Filimonov, decided to resign the official. For more information about how the daughter's misconduct cost the civil servant her job, see the Izvestia article.
Why was the official Yulia Shevtsova fired?
The reason for the rapid resignation of the head of the Nyuksen district of the Vologda region, Yulia Shevtsova, was a video that spread on TikTok and other social networks. On the recording, her 19-year-old daughter, Ksenia, boasted about her position as a mother and threatened to send those she did not like and who wrote negative comments to a special military operation.
"What are you doing, freaking out? Do you know who my mom is? The mayor! We'll send you to your place," Shevtsova's daughter said.
Despite the fact that the video was published back in October 2024, the content became viral only a few days ago, when it got into one of the urban communities. The video instantly caused a wave of outrage among the residents of the region.
"Hundreds of thousands of young people have died or become disabled! I personally find it unpleasant to observe this. I think that this girl should at least publicly apologize," the user commented on the video.
At the same time, after the scandal, Yulia Shevtsova publicly apologized for her daughter's offensive video and stated that she had an educational conversation with her.
"As a family, we sincerely apologize to those people whose feelings were hurt by this video. <...> Yes, our children make mistakes — out of stupidity, out of inexperience — but we need to realize and correct these mistakes in time, so we have a serious conversation with the child," Shevtsova said in a video on one of the social networks.
The Governor of the Vologda Region, Georgy Filimonov, also spoke about the situation on his Telegram channel.
"I strongly and wholeheartedly condemn the act of the daughter of the head of the Nyuksen municipal district, Y.P.Shevtsova. The girl's statements are unacceptable, offensive, vulgar, touching on a sacred and sensitive topic for all of us," he wrote.
The head of the region stressed that participation in the SVR is "an honor and privilege, not a punishment," and noted that such threats and jokes about this are unacceptable. According to the governor, the official's daughter is going through a personal crisis and emotional stress related to the relationship, which was the reason for her thoughtless words. At the same time, Filimonov noted that the girl lives and studies far from her mother and, "having got to herself," made a mistake "out of perplexity," succumbing to emotions.
Despite the apologies made by Shevtsova and her daughter, the governor decided to dismiss Shevtsova from the post of head of the Nyuksen district, justifying this by "the value incompatibility of her daughter's misconduct with the rules, principles and ideology of the Vologda Oblast government team." Filimonov stressed that this decision was made without compromise and that participants in a special military operation, as well as combat veterans who have completed the Heroes of the Russian North regional program, will be considered for the vacant post.
The head of the Vologda Region recommended that Yulia Shevtsova pay more attention to her daughter's upbringing and offered to send her to nursing courses followed by a volunteer internship at a military hospital to help her understand the seriousness of the situation.
What is known about the ex-head of the Nyuksen municipal district Yulia Shevtsova
Yulia Pavlovna Shevtsova (maiden name — Zagoskina) was born on December 28, 1975 in Veliky Ustyug. She has a law degree and graduated from the O.E. Kutafin Moscow State Law University. Since 2001, she has worked in the administration of the Velikoustyugsky district, held the position of head of the legal department, supervised interdepartmental interaction with law enforcement agencies and collaborated with the local Cossacks.
Since 2009, she has been a member of the Russian Bar Association and the head of the regional office. She also supervised the work of the Commission on Juvenile Affairs.
In May 2024, Shevtsova was appointed acting head of the Nyuksen district, and in October 2024 she officially assumed the post. Her appointment was supported by the Governor of the Vologda region, Georgy Filimonov.
Yulia was married to businessman Anatoly Shevtsov, who died in the summer of 2023. They have two children in their marriage, Ksenia and Ivan. Yulia also has a son from a previous relationship.
However, the situation with the Nyuksen official and her daughter was rather an exception. There are many more examples of regional officials resigning their powers and going to the front line themselves. Since the beginning of the special military operation, more than three thousand municipal employees have gone to defend the Fatherland.
Ufa official went to HIS
On Monday, May 19, it became known that one of the employees of the administration of the Ordzhonikidze district of Ufa decided to voluntarily go to the combat zone of a special military operation.
The man worked in the district administration for more than two years, during which he established himself as a high-level professional. However, he decided to stop working at the department and sign a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry.
His action was announced by the head of the district, Rustem Khamitov. According to him, his colleague's decision came as a surprise to the entire team. The head of the municipality shared the news on social networks and expressed respect for the Ufa resident's act, stressing that at a difficult moment for the country, he considered it his duty to stand up for her.
The mayor of Orenburg has left for HIS OWN
Orenburg Mayor Sergey Salmin voluntarily decided to resign and go to a special military operation zone. He informed Denis Pasler, Governor of the Orenburg Region, about his decision, who posted a corresponding message on the Telegram channel on February 13.
"Sergey Alexandrovich Salmin asked me to provide him with the opportunity to participate in his work as a volunteer. It is a serious and courageous step to join those who defend the interests of our country and peaceful citizens," the head of the region wrote.
Pasler expressed his full support for the mayor, calling his act worthy of a real man. According to him, the duties of the head of Orenburg are temporarily assigned to the first deputy. All key urban projects will continue to be implemented, and monitoring of the situation in the regional center will be strengthened.
The governor also added that other municipal officials had made a similar decision in recent days. He wished everyone who was going to his home a successful completion of tasks and a safe return home.
Buryat officials went to THEIR
In January 2025, three Russian officials immediately decided to voluntarily go to the free zone. The head of the Republic of Buryatia, Alexei Tsydenov, announced this on the Telegram channel on January 22.
The head of Buryatia said that his deputies Aldar Gulgenov and Ivan Alkheev expressed their readiness to participate in the special military operation. The Acting Minister of Agriculture of the Republic, Amgalan Darmayev, also expressed a desire to go to the war zone.
According to Tsydenov, all three will join the unit as part of the Tiger detachment, which is being formed within the framework of the Far Eastern Federal District.
The head of the region thanked the officials for their courage and wished them success in completing their tasks. "I thank my colleagues for their worthy and courageous act," he concluded.
It is worth noting that some officials are promoted after returning from the front. It should be recalled that this is exactly what Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with the heads of municipalities in mid-January. "The heroes of the SVO are potential cadres for municipalities," the president emphasized.
