The Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS) has identified a cartel in the medical sector worth 1.2 billion rubles. This was reported on the agency's website on May 20.

"Signs of a violation were found at auctions for the supply of medical instruments and consumables throughout Russia. The agency has opened a case on violation of antimonopoly legislation against Focus LLC, Otrimed LLC and Extravision LLC," the FAS explained.

The service suspects the organizations of collusion to maintain prices at auction. The total amount of the initial (maximum) contract prices was estimated at 1,214,019,349 rubles.

It clarifies that if found guilty, organizations face turnover fines.

On May 13, the Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) in the region announced that a criminal case had been opened in Primorsky Krai on a cartel worth more than 120 million rubles. It is noted that the auctions were held to meet the needs of a heat supply company in Primorye.
