A calf calf shot down in the Moscow region is being prepared for surgery

Veterinarians are preparing Ilyusha, a calf calf shot down in the Moscow region, for surgery. His condition is assessed as stable and satisfactory. This was announced on May 20 by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow region.
"On the evening of May 19th, he (the moose. — Ed.) was transported to a veterinary clinic, where doctors diagnosed him with a serious condition — his body temperature dropped to 35 degrees, the calf was exhausted. The wounds were treated, a dropper with saline and vitamins was placed," they wrote on the department's page on the VKontakte social network.
It is reported that the calf's condition has been stabilized, and a temporary cast has been placed on its hind limbs. The veterinarians who rescued the cub named him Ilyusha "for his heroic strength and zeal for life," the publication says.
As indicated in the regional Ministry of agriculture, in the afternoon the calf will undergo surgery to restore the integrity of the bone.
"In the future, the animal is planned to be transported to the wildlife rehabilitation center in the Losiny Ostrov National Park," the statement said.
On May 19, it was reported that a moose had been shot down in the Istra district of the Moscow Region. The animal lay for two days near the village of Pavlovskaya Sloboda in an immobile state.
Later that day, the calf was examined and transported to the Losiny Ostrov National Park for assistance. The prosecutor's office of the Moscow region reported that the work of the services after not providing assistance to the injured animal will be checked.
