The Izvestia film crew plans to conquer Elbrus in the summer together with veterans of the special military operation (SVO) as part of the Time of the Strong project.

"I've been through a lot. I saw almost the entire front line, nothing stopped me. Elbrus is not the limit, it's just the beginning of what I can prove with my character in the civilian sphere and show that I can do it," said Artyom Tumak, a military officer.

Currently, the participants of the ascent are being trained in a unique climate chamber, where conditions are created that simulate the desert, the tropics and the highlands. They gradually increase their physical activity by training in the specialized center "SportMedKlinika", where a unique set of exercises has been developed to achieve maximum physical fitness.

"We have developed a program that will allow us to prepare people for reaching such heights as soon as possible and do it with the maximum potential of the body's capabilities," said Alexander Fokin, Deputy Chief Physician for Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine at the Sports Medical Clinic.

It is specified that the Time of the Strong project began with a health diagnosis at the Beloostrov High-Tech Clinic, after which eight people were allowed to climb. Anatoly Kudryashov and Ruslan Avzalov, veterans of the special operation, are confident in their abilities and strive to demonstrate that people with disabilities can achieve high goals.

"As I climb, maybe I'll climb higher mountains, since I've already looked at Mount Everest. There was not a single disabled person from Russia with a prosthetic leg who climbed to the very top," Avzalov said.

The Izvestia film crew will accompany the participants on their way to the top. Veterans' prosthetics are adapted for comfort during ascent and descent. At the end of May, the group will embark on the first training ascents to Kabardino-Balkaria, and in July, an assault on Mount Elbrus is planned.

On the same day, it was reported that the veterans of the SVR, who plan to conquer the top of Mount Elbrus on prosthetic legs, completed the stage of physical preparation for climbing within the framework of the "Time of the Strong" project. They were trained using pressure therapy, cryotherapy, balance therapy and pressure therapy.
