Law enforcement agencies have blocked the illegal migration channel and detained six residents of the Volgograd region and Moscow, who illegally legalized over 1,000 foreigners. Irina Volk, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, informed about this on May 20.

"It has been previously established that the criminal business was created by an entrepreneur who had previously been convicted of a crime in the field of migration. Together with his accomplices, he registered commercial organizations that were listed as recruitment agencies. The attackers handed out their business cards in crowded places and posted ads on messengers," her Telegram channel says.

According to Volk, the defendants offered their clients to illegally issue migration documents for money. Fake contracts were concluded with foreigners, with the help of which citizens of other states could extend their stay in Russia. According to this scheme, the criminal group managed to legalize thousands of foreign citizens.

Investigators have opened a criminal case on the incident under Part 3 of Article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organization of illegal migration"). The defendants were taken to Moscow. Law enforcement agencies continue to identify people involved in this illegal activity.

On May 14, it was reported that in Rostov-on-Don, two policemen were suspected of organizing illegal migration, as well as abuse of official duties. On this fact, law enforcement agencies have opened criminal cases in accordance with art. 286 ("Abuse of official authority") and art. 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organization of illegal migration").
