The media reported a record increase in exports of Russian cucumbers to Poland


In March, Russia increased exports of cucumbers to Poland to a maximum of 2.7 million euros in four years. This was reported by RIA Novosti on May 20, citing data from Eurostat.
In March 2025, Polish companies purchased 2.1 thousand tons of products from Russian suppliers. Compared to February of the same year, sales increased 2.5 times, and by 25% compared to March 2024.
Russia provided 83% of Polish cucumber imports. The rest of the volume was accounted for by Turkey (€241 thousand), Belarus (€194 thousand) and Ukraine (€79 thousand). The total amount of cucumber imports in Poland in March amounted to €3.25 million— which is 1.6 times more than in February.
In addition, it is specified that this state remains the largest importer of cucumbers in Europe.
In March, Russia increased exports of buckwheat to China to a record level of $13.3 million. According to the Chinese customs, in early spring, Russian companies increased the supply of buckwheat groats to China by 2.9 times in monthly terms and 2.8 times in annual terms. The last maximum was set in December 2023, when the figure was $10.3 million.
