In Transbaikalia, a man killed his seven-year-old son in an apartment

In Chita, the bodies of a 35-year-old man and his seven-year-old son were found in an apartment of one of the apartment buildings. This was announced on May 20 by the press service of the Investigative Department (IC) of Russia in the Trans-Baikal Territory.

"On May 19, 2025, at about 21:00 (local time, corresponds to 15:00 Moscow time. — Ed.) law enforcement agencies received a message about the discovery of the body of a 35-year—old man and his young son in an apartment of an apartment building in the city of Chita," follows from a publication on the Telegram channel of the department.

An investigative task force immediately arrived at the scene. According to preliminary data, the man killed his young son, after which he committed suicide.

A criminal case has been opened into the incident under paragraph "b" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder of a minor"). Currently, investigative actions are being carried out, examinations have been appointed, and eyewitnesses are being questioned.

"The investigation of the case is under the control of the leadership of the regional investigation department," the press service concluded.

The suspect in the case is the babies' father.

On April 14, a resident of the Krasnoyarsk Territory was detained in Kansk, who killed three of her children with an axe.: a four-year-old girl and two boys aged seven months and eight years. It was clarified that the woman is registered with a psychiatrist. The defendant was charged on April 15, and she was arrested the next day. The woman fully admitted her guilt.
