A large batch of synthetic drugs worth over 150 million rubles was seized in the Amur region. This was reported on May 20 in the press service of the regional FSB.

"The Federal Security Service of Russia in the Amur Region has documented and suppressed the criminal activities of a Russian citizen who intended to organize an illegal channel for the sale of narcotic drugs on an especially large scale using the Internet information and telecommunications network," the agency's message quotes TASS.

It is specified that almost 10 kg of synthetic drugs, amounting to about 40 thousand single doses with a total value of over 150 million rubles, were withdrawn from illicit trafficking. The department stressed that the suspect planned to sell the drug.

A criminal case was opened against a 24-year-old citizen under Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal production, sale or transfer of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues"). The man faces punishment up to life imprisonment.

On May 14, the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Altai Territory reported that a resident of the region was detained for growing cannabis in large-scale shipping containers. According to the agency, in 2022, the defendant installed four shipping containers on his land plot in the Pervomaisky district of Altai and hid two of them in the ground.
