Trump said he has a red line regarding US efforts in Ukraine.

US President Donald Trump said that there is a red line in the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, which concerns the efforts of the United States to establish peace. Trump said this in an interview with reporters, which took place on May 19 at the White House.
"I have a certain [red] line, but I don't want to talk about it, because I think it will further complicate the negotiations," Trump said, without giving details.
The head of the White House also said that at the moment there is no question of sending the US military to Ukraine. Trump also announced his readiness to consider Europe as the main mediator in the negotiation process, in case significant progress is not achieved on this issue.
However, he said that in the future he would be able to reconsider the increase in arms supplies to Kiev, at the same time adding that he believes in an early settlement of the conflict.
Trump said on May 19 that sanctions against Russia would not be tightened, as there was a chance to achieve a settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. He noted that the Russian side, in his opinion, is ready for dialogue on the cessation of hostilities and is not dragging its feet on this issue at all.
Putin and Trump had a telephone conversation that lasted more than two hours. During the conversation, they discussed, among other things, the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. The Russian president called the conversation informative, frank and useful.
