Russian servicemen told about the liberation of Kotlyarovka in the DPR

On May 20, the military personnel of the Center group of forces told about the liberation of the settlement of Kotlyarovka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) in the Red Army area of the special military operation (SVO).

"The settlement was surrounded by a forest area. <...> We watched with UAVs [unmanned aerial vehicles], with the commanders, and the political officers also participated in planning military operations. <...> The enemy dug in, roughly speaking, and fought for every house," said the deputy commander of the company for military and political work. He clarified that for a successful offensive, the Russian military used a smoke screen, thanks to which the UAVs and aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were diverted. After that, the military reached the tank ditch that runs around the village, and using ladders they climbed over it and occupied the forest belt next to Kotlyarovka.

"They occupied this wooded area. <...> There was a small shooting battle, because the enemy was in control after all, there was a small number of the enemy, but they retreated immediately," said Alexei Murachev, commander of the assault company squad.

In addition, the commander of the assault company, Alexei Nazarenko, added that everyone who participated in the offensive is a hero because the hard work was done.

On May 13, the Russian Ministry of Defense published footage of the liberation of the village of Kotlyarovka in the DPR by the military group of troops "Center". They show that there are almost no buildings left in the settlement: the AFU militants have made a powerful fortified area out of Kotryarovka.
