Pushkov pointed out Stubb's inability to assess reality due to Russophobia.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb is infected with Russophobia, and his attempts to convince American leader Donald Trump that Russia is not a great power are a demonstration of stupidity. This was announced on May 19 by the chairman of the Russian Federation Commission on Information Policy and Interaction with the media, Senator Alexei Pushkov.
He noted that Stubb's statements that Russia's economy is smaller than Italy's are not true. According to him, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank put the Russian economy in fourth place in the world in terms of GDP in terms of purchasing power.
"Alexander Stubb, the most anti—Russian president of Finland in its entire modern history, is trying to convince Trump that Russia is no longer a great power. <...> We have to admit that Russophobia breeds stupidity and lack of realism in political assessments," the senator said in a Telegram message.
Pushkov clarified that Russia also has many other signs of a great power, and the US president, who, according to the senator, has "common sense," will not change his mind, despite Stubb's statements.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, reported on May 8 that representatives of Western countries use Russophobia as political pressure to substitute concepts and attempts to falsify the results of the Second World War.
