Trump allowed the transfer of a role in resolving the conflict in Ukraine to Europe

If significant progress is not made to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, the United States will cede its role to Europe. On May 19, US President Donald Trump told reporters at the White House.

"I think something is going to happen. If not, I'll just back off and they'll have to keep going. After all, it was a European situation. It was supposed to remain European, but we [intervened] because the previous administration [of the United States] strongly believed that we should be involved," he said.
