The Yemeni Houthis announced the installation of a blockade over the Israeli port of Haifa.

The naval blockade of the Israeli port of Haifa was established by the Yemeni Houthis of the Ansar Allah movement. This was announced on May 19 by Yahya Saria, a representative of the group.

"The Yemeni Armed Forces (AF) have decided to follow the instructions of the country's leadership and begin work on imposing a naval blockade of the port of Haifa," Sariah said on Al Masirah TV channel.

He clarified that such a decision is the response of the Yemeni Houthis to the escalation of the conflict in the Gaza Strip by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), whose actions, as emphasized, provoked a prolonged famine in the Palestinian enclave.

The Yemeni Armed Forces called on companies whose ships are located in or heading to the port of Haifa to take into account all statements related to this area, and also said they would not hesitate to take further measures aimed at supporting the oppressed Palestinian people, Saria added.

The IDF has stepped up operations around the entire perimeter of the exclave — during one of the strikes, the head of the military wing of Hamas was killed.

The Yemeni Shafaq news agency reported on May 18 that the Ansar Allah Hussites had launched two ballistic missiles at Israel's Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv. The agency noted that as a result of the attack, the operation of the Israeli airport was disrupted.
