Cuban banks will start issuing Mir cards
Cuban banks will soon begin issuing cards of the Russian Mir payment system. This was reported to Izvestia by the head of the Central Bank of the island state, Juana Lilia Delgado Portal.
"At the moment, work is underway to issue Mir cards in Cuban banks. The responsible authorities are seriously working on this. Not all banks will issue it, we are studying how best to organize this process, but this is a new opportunity for which there is already some progress," Delgado told Izvestia Portal.
In Cuba, it is already possible to pay with Mir cards issued by Russian banks, and it is also possible to withdraw cash from them in local currency.
