A volcano has erupted in Indonesia

In Indonesia, the Levotobi Laki-Laki volcano (Male) erupted, which is located in the southeastern part of the island of Flores, which led to an increase in the danger level in the region to a maximum level. This was reported by the volcanological agency of the country (Pusat Vulkanologi dan Mitigasi Bencana Geologi).
"The results of visual and instrumental analysis show that the activity of the Levotobi Male volcano is still relatively high. Thus, the level of volcanic activity has been increased from level III (Alert) to level IV (Alert)," the ministry said in a statement posted on May 18 on its official website.
The agency urged tourists and locals of the Nusa Tenagra province of Flores Island to remain calm and follow the instructions of the authorities.
According to statistics provided by the agency, the Levotobi Laki-laki (Male) volcano repeatedly spewed thick gray volcanic ash and erupted several times throughout Monday, May 19. It is noted that an increase in the level of activity is still being recorded.
On May 13, the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Philippines (PHIVOLCS) announced a moderate eruption in the crater of the summit of the Canlaon volcano on Negros Island. Experts clarified that at the moment the volcano is in a state of "magmatic unrest", and also warned about the occurrence of new eruptions.
