Dynamo talked about the principles of choosing a new head coach

Dynamo Moscow wants to play intense football and dominate the field. Dmitry Gafin, Chairman of the club's Board of Directors, told Izvestia about this on May 19. He also explained the principle by which the blue and white team will choose a new head coach.
In early May, Marcel Lichka left this post, and Rolan Gusev is assigned the functions of acting head coach until the end of the season. A round before the finish of the Russian championship, Dynamo is bidding for the bronze medals of this tournament, which could be their third in four seasons. Previously, the team took third place in 2022 under Sandro Schwartz and in 2024 under Lichke.
"We want to play intense football, try to dominate the field. Regarding tactical formations, probably, a coach should not be dogmatic, he should defend his work from achieving his goals and results," said Dmitry Gafin, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dynamo Moscow football club.
He noted that each coach has his own approach to achieve his goals.
"Every coach has different approaches — there are no identical specialists. There is no second Sandro Schwartz. <...> We will announce all decisions after the end of the season," Gafin stressed.
In the last round of the current Russian championship, Dynamo will play away against Krasnodar, which leads the RPL and can win gold. After the dismissal of Lichka under Rolan Gusev, Dynamo won three out of three matches.
On May 14, CSKA beat Zenit St. Petersburg with a score of 2:0. After the victory, the Muscovites reached the Superfinal of the Russian Football Cup. Matvey Kislyak (in the 37th minute) and Tamerlan Musaev (in the 90th+2nd minute) scored for the Army team. In the 45th minute at the end of the first half, Ivan Oblyakov failed to score from the penalty spot. The superfinal will be held on June 1 at the Luzhniki Stadium.
