Roskachestvo told about the choice of the best ultra-pasteurized milk

Roskachestvo provided a list of manufacturers of ultra-pasteurized milk, marked with the Russian state "Quality Mark", and told how to choose this type of milk and why it has become so widespread.

It is noted that in May 2025, ultra-pasteurized milk of brands that are holders of the "Quality Mark" is being produced in 11 regions of Russia. At the same time, a total of 16 certificates were issued in this product category.

Ultra-pasteurized milk meets modern safety standards and can be stored for a long time. It can also be called the most useful relative to other types of similar products. So, the milk is heated to 137 degrees for a few seconds, as a result of which the product retains its beneficial properties, and the bacteria are destroyed. The marking of the "Quality Mark" confirms that the products have passed the strictest control: they are sterile, do not require boiling and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to six months. In addition, this type of milk is fully consistent with the taste and nutritional properties of fresh milk.

In addition, pasteurization, in turn, involves heating milk to a temperature of about 70 degrees and preserves the benefits of natural milk. A number of brands of pasteurized milk are marked with a "Quality Mark", which also ensures that such milk retains vitamins and taste properties while destroying bacteria. However, pasteurized milk differs in its shelf life — it can only stand on the refrigerator shelf for 5-10 days.

Sterilized products are industrially sterile and free of bacteria. Such dairy products can be stored for six months at a temperature of no more than 25 degrees, but the technology for producing sterilized milk is different: milk is heated for 20 minutes to a temperature slightly above 100 degrees.

When choosing milk in a store, you should pay attention to the label label — "GOST 31450". Also, do not worry if the word "composition" is not on the package. Due to the fact that milk is a one—component product, therefore, the label "made from cow's milk" or "made from whole milk" is sufficient for it.

Another important element is the packaging — it must be airtight and free from any damage, Roskachestvo added.

At the same time, the addition of powdered milk is prohibited by law in the regulations and in all standards for the production of drinking milk. If it is added or if the product is made entirely from powdered milk and water, then the product name will be different: either "milk drink" or "reconstituted milk from powdered milk".

The Ministry of Agriculture reported on May 6 that the production of milk, butter and ice cream has increased in Russia. Thus, in the first quarter of this year, domestic enterprises produced over 1.5 million tons of drinking milk, which is 3.7% more than in the same period of 2024. Also, the dairy industry continues to be one of the most supported in the Russian agro-industrial complex. Last year, over 80 billion rubles were allocated from the federal budget for its development.
