Violations during the construction of defensive structures were revealed in the Belgorod region

In the Belgorod region, violations amounting to 109 million rubles were detected during the construction of defensive structures. This was announced on May 19 by the governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov.

"I have received information about the results of an additional inspection on the construction of defensive structures. The inspectors found violations amounting to 109 million rubles. This money was sent to the federal budget today," Gladkov wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to him, violations on the part of contractors for overstating the cost of work were also found. Special documents have now been sent to the court. The check continues.

On April 16, it became known that Alexey Smirnov, the former governor of the Kursk region, had been detained. He is accused of stealing about 200 million rubles out of 15 billion rubles that were allocated from the federal budget for the defense of the region. He was later arrested for two months until June 16.

Irina Volk, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, said that law enforcement officers had charged Smirnov and his deputy Alexei Dedov with embezzlement of more than 1 billion rubles.
