A criminal case has been opened into the death of a child due to the fall of a playground's sports and play structure in the Stavropol Territory. This was reported on May 19 in the press service of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region.

According to the investigation, a metal structure of the complex fell on a child at a playground in the Kherson Budyonnovsky district, which led to the instant death of an eleven-year-old boy.

"A criminal case has been opened in the Budyonnovsky interdistrict investigation department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Stavropol Territory on the fact of negligence of administration staff (Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and causing death by negligence (Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)," the agency's Telegram channel says.

It is noted that an inspection of the scene is currently underway, as well as eyewitnesses are being questioned and a forensic examination has been ordered to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
