The campaign "Peculiarities of national cleaning" was held in Kalmykia

The All-Russian environmental campaign "Peculiarities of national cleaning" was held in Kalmykia on May 19.

It is specified that this event was organized by the Compass Foundation. The purpose of the campaign is to draw people's attention to environmental issues.

"This year, the campaign has expanded, changed its status. And now it's not just an environmental action, but also an ecological and patriotic action for obvious reasons. Of course, like everyone else, the 80th anniversary of Victory inspired us. <...> Our task is not just to clean up, but to reveal the cultural code, to reveal the soul of the region," said Tatiana Kovaleva, head of the Compass Foundation.

Hundreds of people gathered together to clean the steppes and the "holy spring," where locals had been collecting water for generations. Many people came to the event with their families. Many participants of the event said that this action is very useful because it helps to preserve the environment.

It is noted that after the cleaning, the region prepared a special program: residents were waiting for themed events reflecting local traditions and national flavor, including dishes of local cuisine, culture and art.

On April 28, an action "Peculiarities of national cleaning" was held in Buryatia. Its participants cleared several kilometers of the Baikal coast from garbage. It was noted that in 2025 the campaign will be held in 11 regions of Russia. Over the entire time it was held, more than 30 thousand people participated in it, who collected over 300 tons of garbage.
