Emergency mode was introduced in the Rostov region due to the condition of crops after the spring frosts. This was announced on May 19 by Acting Governor Yuri Slyusar.

"I signed an order according to which an emergency regime will be introduced in the Rostov region from 6 p.m. on May 19. This will allow our farmers to make insurance payments and compensate for losses," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

Slyusar also instructed the regional Ministry of Agriculture to collect the necessary documents to establish the affected area due to frosts and assess the extent of the damage caused to farmers.

On May 5, Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut announced that Russia plans to harvest 2.1 million tons of fruits and berries in 2025, despite two waves of spring frosts. According to her, the damage was relatively small compared to last year.
