The general director of Mosfilm announced the end of the censorship era with the advent of the Internet

Censorship is no longer possible with the advent of the Internet. This opinion was expressed by Karen Shakhnazarov, Director General of the Mosfilm film concern, People's Artist of Russia, on Monday, May 19.

"I always think that Nicholas I told Pushkin: "I will be your censor." He was terribly cut up. "The Bronze Horseman" in the original was never released during his lifetime, only in pieces. I understand how Alexander Sergeyevich, of course, suffered. Well, never mind, nevertheless he remained Pushkin. And Tolstoy was censored. "Hadji Murad, in my opinion, never came out during his lifetime," the Mosfilm CEO said in an interview with writer and TV and radio presenter Mikhail Shakhnazarov in the Paragraph Media project.

Shakhnazarov noted that seriously speaking, now the introduction of censorship is simply impossible.

"With the advent of the Internet, information has become completely uncontrolled," he said.

Earlier, on May 12, Shakhnazarov said that Soviet and Russian actress Nina Grebeshkova was an easy and charming person with a very strong character, RT reports.

He said that she played one of the roles in his graduation film based on Vasily Shukshin, "Step Wider, Maestro," writes Moscow 24.

According to Shakhnazarov, Grebeshkova's husband, director Leonid Gaidai, was on the VGIK examination board, which evaluated his graduation film. The director noted that while watching the thesis, Gaidai was gloomy and even asked him a tricky question, but in the end he rated the picture a five.
