Lawyer Alexander Khaminsky warned that for collecting red book green cheese, you can get up to four years in prison.
In conversation with aif.ru On Monday, May 19, the expert explained that if one or two accidentally caught green cheese or other red book mushrooms are found in the mushroom picker's basket, this will result in a fine of up to 5 thousand rubles.
If a person intentionally collected such mushrooms and there is a basket full of them, we will no longer be talking about administrative, but criminal liability, which provides for a fine of up to 1 million rubles or imprisonment for up to four years.
The lawyer recommended that fans of picking mushrooms find out in advance which of them belong to the Red Book.
On May 18, RT, citing experts, wrote that since October 2023, the collection of mushrooms listed in the Red Book has been prohibited in Russia. There are 41 species of them.
