In France, farmers on tractors blocked several highways in protest.

Several columns of farmers on tractors blocked major highways in northern France and demanded that the deputies of the National Assembly (the lower house of parliament) not remove important provisions for industry workers from the draft law on "elimination of restrictions in agriculture." This was announced on May 19 by the Internet portal actu.fr .
"We cannot allow members of parliament to repeal the Duplomb-Menonville Act, which is the most important lever for ensuring the sustainability of our agriculture," said the local branch of the Departmental Federation of Agricultural Workers' Unions (FDSEA).
The A1, A2, and A25 motorways, as well as the second national road in Avesnes-sur-Elpe, are closed in both directions. In total, more than 130 tractors and over 170 demonstrators occupied the lanes of the highways. Detours are organized in the appropriate places.
On February 27, farmers from the Czech Republic and Slovakia held a joint rally against the importation of products from third countries into the European Union. According to Pravda, the main purpose of the protest was to express disagreement with the agreement with MERCOSUR and the import of products from third countries. Jan Dolejal, President of the Agrarian Chamber of the Czech Republic, stressed that components banned in Europe are widely used in production in third countries.
