A pensioner from the village of Sharapova Okhota in the Moscow region handed over 1.6 million rubles to a fraudster for "magical services." This was reported on May 19 by a source of Izvestia.

According to him, on April 28, a woman found a fortune teller's ad on the Internet and called her. In conversation, the girl introduced herself as Veronica. They agreed to meet at the pensioner's house and hold rituals, the source said.

It is specified that on May 3, a resident of the Moscow region transferred 43 thousand rubles to the fraudster. According to the source, on May 15, the attacker convinced the woman to apply for a loan of 1.6 million rubles and transfer cash to her.

The pensioner followed the instructions, and subsequently the fraudster stopped contacting her. An inspection is being carried out on this fact.

On May 16, a source in Izvestia reported that a 75-year-old Muscovite woman had lost 5.8 million rubles by agreeing to receive animal feed through delivery. According to the source, on May 12, the woman received a call from a "courier" who asked her to name the code from an SMS message for delivery. After that, she was contacted ostensibly on behalf of Roskomnadzor. As a result, the fraudster convinced the pensioner and her husband to collect money in foreign currency and transfer it to couriers, after which they transferred 4.87 million rubles to the attacker's account.
