- The Federation Council spoke about the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict through diplomatic means

Russia can take a political and diplomatic path to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, but it will no longer take anyone's word for it. This was stated by Federation Council Senator Andrei Klimov on Monday, May 19.

He stressed that it was not just about signatures on paper, but about actions that would guarantee Russia's security and would not be retroactive.
"So I'm in favor of using political and diplomatic ways, but not taking anyone's word for it anymore. Our side is currently preparing proposals for a ceasefire. Ukrainian, too. Then we will compare them, but for now it makes sense to continue solving the problems of the Ukrainian conflict," Klimov concluded.
Earlier in the day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia prefers to achieve a settlement in Ukraine through diplomatic means. At the same time, he expressed the opinion that if, with the mediation of the United States, it is possible to achieve its goals by peaceful means, then Russia will prefer this option, writes Life.Ru .
