On May 19, former US President Joe Biden commented on reports that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer with bone metastases.

"Cancer affects all of us. Like many of you, Jill and I have realized that we are the strongest in difficult situations. Thank you for supporting us with your love," the ex-president wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

On May 18, The New York Times reported that Biden was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, which is rated at nine points on the Gleason scale, belonging to the fifth group. According to the newspaper's source, the disease is responding to hormone therapy, which opens up treatment opportunities.

On May 19, American leader Donald Trump expressed his sympathy to Biden after the news about cancer. The Head of state and his wife wished the ex-president a speedy recovery.
