Peskov: Putin's telephone conversation with Trump will take place at 17:00 Moscow time

Telephone conversations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump will take place on Monday, May 19, at 17:00 Moscow time. This was announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"There will be a telephone conversation with Trump, as Trump announced the day before yesterday, at 17:00 Moscow time," he said.

Peskov said that this conversation between the leaders of the two countries would be important, especially after the recent talks in Istanbul between the delegations of Russia and Ukraine. The President's press secretary assured that the results of the dialogue on the agreement will be announced soon.

Earlier in the day, Peskov said that the meeting of the leaders of the Russian Federation and the United States would depend on the dates that they themselves would designate.

At the same time, the Kremlin's official representative stressed that the Russian side appreciates Washington's mediation efforts on the Ukrainian conflict and is grateful to the American side. According to him, Russia prefers to achieve the goals of the special operation through diplomacy.

After the announcement of the telephone conversation between the American and Russian leaders, Peskov told Izvestia that the conversation between Putin and Trump was in the process of preparation.
