Some preparatory actions can save drivers unnecessary problems when driving for a long time. Automotive expert Dmitry Popov told about this on Monday, May 19.

"I have been traveling to the sea from St. Petersburg for many years now, and I take this matter very seriously. This is more than 2 thousand km in one direction only," the expert shared in an interview with RT.

Popov noted that on the eve of the trip, the driver should book hotels for a stopover, so as not to search for an overnight stay on the way.

"It's also worth exploring the route in advance. Where and which gas stations are located, and what restrictions apply? Where to eat? Before leaving, it is worth checking what repairs are currently underway on the roads along the route," he said.

The expert also recommended writing out the phone numbers of emergency and evacuation services before the trip.

On May 12, ATOR Vice President Artur Muradian said that Russian travelers prefer to travel by private car mainly to the countries of the former Soviet Union.

In addition to popular trips to Belarus, tourists travel by car to other CIS countries, such as Georgia and Armenia. 360.ru .

On April 21, Sergey Ganzia, the Minister of Resorts of the region, announced that 187 tourist routes are available in Crimea for travelers by car.

From 2015 to 2024, the agency installed 34 tourist navigation signs, 720 of them are located in municipalities, and 31 on the federal highway "Tavrida". There are a total of 443 walking and driving routes in the region.

Earlier, on March 21, Stanislav Chekmarev, head of the PEC: MALL marketplace, told RIAMO that with the onset of spring, Russians are increasingly traveling by car. Sometimes, during long trips, drivers encounter unexpected vehicle failures. This is often due to temperature fluctuations, which lead to ice, snowdrifts and pollution of country roads with stones and debris. It is important to always have tools, liquids and spare parts at hand that will help prevent damage to the car outside the city, the expert noted.
