Grigorovich's farewell will take place on May 23 on the historical stage of the Bolshoi Theater.

The farewell ceremony for Soviet and Russian choreographer Yuri Grigorovich will take place on May 23 in Moscow. This was announced on May 19 by the press service of the Bolshoi Theater.

It is noted that the farewell will take place on the historical stage of the theater.

"May 23 <... farewell to the legendary choreographer, People's Artist of the USSR Yuri Grigorovich, will take place. It starts at 11:00 (Moscow time), admission is free," the Bolshoi Theater's Telegram channel says.

They added that the ballet "Legend of Love" will be shown on May 23 in memory of Grigorovich.

Soloists of the GABT and the Mariinsky Theatre take part in the performances.

Grigorovich's death became known earlier that day. The choreographer died at the age of 98. Since 1964, he has been the chief choreographer of the Bolshoi Theatre. Grigorovich is the author of eight original ballets, as well as the editor of almost all classical productions that formed the basis of the Bolshoi Theater's repertoire.
