The expert spoke about popular destinations for food tours

Russian gastrotourism is experiencing a real boom, attracting more and more fans of combining travel with gastronomic discoveries. Natalia Anstal, head of the Go Travel tour operator, told Izvestia on May 19 about the most popular destinations for connoisseurs of delicious travel around the country.
According to the expert, St. Petersburg remains the undisputed gastronomic capital of Russia, a city where culinary traditions of different eras and cultures are intertwined. However, the palm tree for the development of gastrotourism is confidently held by the southern regions: the Krasnodar Territory with its famous resorts like Abrau-Durso, Stavropol and the Rostov region.
"There is an interesting trend towards combining gastronomic and ecological tourism," Anstal notes. "More and more tourists are choosing trips to farms, where they can not only taste natural products, but also participate in their creation."
Food tours in the Tver region are particularly popular, where tourists are offered to taste farm cheeses and meat products prepared according to traditional recipes. Here you can also take part in cooking classes and even prepare your own lunch using the freshest local products.
The classic directions of gastronomy do not lose their relevance: Kazan with its rich Tatar cuisine, Crimea with unique wine tours, Sochi and neighboring Abkhazia, where you can get acquainted with the original Caucasian cuisine.
"The choice of gastronomy always depends on what flavor discoveries the traveler wants to make. Today, Russians have begun to take a more thoughtful approach to gastronomic travel, choosing not just tastings, but a full immersion in the culinary traditions of the region," the expert emphasized.
She noted that the demand for gastronomic tours is growing every year, not only among gourmets, but also among ordinary tourists who want to make their trip more delicious and memorable.
Earlier, on April 21, it was reported that the traditional beach holiday is gradually losing ground. Russians are increasingly interested in author tours from local residents (25%), sanatorium recreation (24%), railway routes (11%) and gastronomic trips (10%).
