A 20-year-old murder was discovered in the village of Shovskoye in the Lipetsk region. This was reported on May 19 by a source of Izvestia.

"On May 17, the remains of a man with signs of violent death were found under the floor of one of the houses. Presumably, this is the corpse of a man who lived here and went missing in 2005," the source said.

The suspect was a 73-year-old previously convicted resident of a boarding school for the elderly in the city of Yelets. A criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder").

On April 30, it was reported that two men suspected of murder 28 years ago in the village of Pervomaisky were detained in the Orenburg region. In April 1997, the suspects brutally murdered a 57-year-old man. The victim was found with stab, penetrating and chopped wounds on his neck, chest, stomach and face.
