A resident of the Kherson region was sentenced to 12 years for espionage and possession of explosives.

Employees of the Department of the Federal Security Service (UFSB) of Russia in the Kherson region stopped the activities of a Ukrainian citizen who transmitted information about the location of the Russian Armed Forces to the Ukrainian special services and organized caches of explosives. This was announced on May 19 by the press service of the department.

"The accused, on the instructions of an employee of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense (Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense — Ed.) of Ukraine, collected and transmitted information about the deployment of forces and assets of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the territory of the Kherson region, organized caches of explosives and ammunition, as well as committing sabotage and terrorist acts against government officials and military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation," - it follows from the message.

During the arrest, law enforcement officers seized 4.6 kg of plastid and four TNT sticks with a total weight of 800 g, three F-1 grenades, three control panels and other devices from the woman.

According to the press service of the department, the court sentenced the woman to 12 years in prison to be served in a general regime penal colony in accordance with art. 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Espionage") , paragraphs "a, b" of part 3 of art. 222.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Illegal possession of explosives and explosive devices").

Earlier, on May 16, the FSB of Russia in the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) stopped the transfer of data on the location of the Russian Armed Forces to the Ukrainian special services. According to the attacker himself, he wanted to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) at the request of his wife. Investigators have opened a criminal case against him in accordance with Article 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Espionage").
